Outside the bustling city, we had a private beach with gorgeous mountain views all around us.

The Roam Down

Well what can we say other than wow!! We just loved our stay at this resort! The beach was wonderful. It was an excellent beach to swim, snorkel, and just float around. We definitely spent a few days on the beach enjoying the water for hours. The resort built a cove out of large rocks so there is some seclusion from the ocean and the waves get broken up so it makes for a nice area to swim around in. There is also plenty of seating on the beach and even more lounge chairs around the pool areas.

Our room was beautiful, functional, clean, and our bed was comfy. Everything in the resort was close enough together that we never got lost or had to walk very far, but it was also spread out enough that you had privacy and quiet if you wanted it. We appreciated that the resort was really secure and safe. And it was outside of the bustling main city area, so it was a little secluded and we also had some gorgeous mountain views from the beach. We should mention the staff really make this resort special as well. They are so friendly and go above and beyond what you would expect.

Overall, we loved our stay and will definitely visit again!

Delicious Gourmet Food

Buffet & Restaurants

We really appreciated their amazing efforts to accommodate us.

The ROAM Down

Let’s talk about the food first. The first thing we did when we arrived was head to the buffet, obviously. The food was great and Angie was able to find some good gluten free options. We traveled with two others who also eat gluten free as well. The servers were very attentive to our needs and made sure we knew what our options were. Also, at the restaurants they let us know what meals we could all order gluten free and even brought special desserts in from other restaurants if they didn’t have an option. We really appreciated their amazing efforts to accommodate us so we could stay healthy and enjoy our trip.

Our favorite restaurant was the Mexican restaurant Rojo Corazon. They had the best Beef and Mole we’ve ever eaten! We also really enjoyed the sushi at Yuu, the Asian restaurant and the steakhouse was fantastic as well! All the servers went above and beyond in service. You don’t need to make any reservations ahead of time for any of the restaurants, however, it got a little bit busier on the weekend and so there may be a short 20-30 minute wait to be seated when it gets busy.

Amenities

Lounges, Bars, Spa, & Gym

Mojitos is also just the cutest place to hang out, filled with lounge swings and bench swings.

The ROAM Down

Our favorite bar and hang out area was Mojitos. For some reason, not many people know about it so it’s pretty quiet and you get your drinks super fast. They have a whole ginormous menu of all different mojito drinks, and you can even request one of your own ideas, they all turned out awesome. Mojitos is also just the cutest place to hang out, filled with lounge swings and bench swings, its the picture perfect place to just chill with a spectacular view and even better drinks.

We enjoyed going to the gym in the mornings. They had very nice machines and equipment. Everything was functional and ran smoothly, and they had every machine we needed, as well as free weights and kettle balls. They also have fitness classes daily from 6-10am.

We visited the spa and it was just so relaxing. The atmosphere was very calming and peaceful. If you like going to the spa, you’ll love this one!

Events & Activities

Foam Party, Kayak, Classes, etc.

Make sure you are there for the Saturday Foam Party. It was definitely a party and a highlight of our trip!

The ROAM Down

Although this is an adults only resort, we liked all the activities they offered during the day. Some of the activities were Spanish classes, ping pong, water fitness, Texas hold ’em, volleyball matches, dance lessons, and even scuba lessons in the pool, there was always something fun happening! They also had kayaks you could take out into the ocean to explore. The nightly shows were also fun to attend after dinner, we enjoyed the dancing and singing! Our favorite activity was the Foam Party. Every Saturday at 3:30 everyone gets in the South pool and they shoot foam out of a cannon into the pool for everyone to swim in and get lost in for an hour. This was unique to this resort, something we’ve never experienced anywhere else. It was definitely a party and a highlight of our trip!
